Slowdive - 21st April 1991

Formed In Reading in 1989, Slowdive gave us some of the most beautiful sounds ever committed to record. They were at the forefront of a scene which would produce such great bands as Ride, Pale Saints, and Boo Radleys (first session further down this page). At the time it seemed to be quite popular to release a series of 12 inch EP's instead of an album and I must admit I quite liked that idea. The first few Slowdive EP's can only be described as classics, giving us such greats as Morningrise, Catch The Breeze and She Calls. The first few EP's are avaliable for download from HERE and I advise you to take a listen.
Slowdive released three albums for Creation Records before being dropped by the label in 1995. Rachel, Ian and Neil went on to form Mojave 3 and signed to 4AD later that year.
This is suprisingly the only session Slowdive recorded for the Peel program.

Rachel Goswell - Guitar/Vocals
Neil Halstead - Guitar/Vocals
Christian Savil - Guitar
Nick Chaplin - Bass
Simon Scott - Drums

1. Catch The Breeze
2. Song 1
