John Peel - 18th January 1988

Leave the Straight Life Behind: Expanded Edition

This program features the excellent first session from Bob which gives me an excuse to mention the re-issue of their debut album Leave The Straight Life Behind which was originally released back in 1991 on their own House Of Teeth label. I seem to recall it been a bit tricky to get hold of at the time for one reason of another. and even though I'm sure I had a copy I'm buggered if I can find it although I do seem to have two copies of the excellent Tired EP. This isn't just a normal re-issue though because as well as a few extra tracks on the first CD there is a second disc which contains all three Peel Sessions a Simon Mayo session and a set of tracks recorded for BBC Radio Humberside in 1989 which must be super rare. Leave The Straight Life Behind will be released through 3 Loop Music on 21st April and can be ordered here.
